Austen Kroll Shares an Update on His Parents’ “Pretty Awesome” New House
After saying goodbye to his longtime family home, the Southern Charm cast member revealed “the cool thing about the new house.”
On the July 28 episode of Southern Charm, Austen Kroll helped his parents move out of their longtime family home. Naturally, after spending more than two decades in the house, the process was an emotional one.
“It’s easy to think about all of the good things that happened in my childhood home. There are definitely some dark times that happened in that house,” he said in an interview, referencing the tragic loss of his older sister, Kyle. “But the beautiful thing about this house is that [my younger sister] Katie was born there. It was new life being brought into the home, and it was the first time that our family had really had a time to heal together.”
“Coming home always put me at ease,” he shared. “And the fact that it will no longer be my go-to place is slowly starting to sink in.”
Now that his family has officially said goodbye to the Charlotte house, Austen recently opened up to BravoTV.com about how he feels about his parents’ current home. “The cool thing about the new house...is that my mother loves it so much, and she is so dedicated to making it feel like home home,’ he said. “Her biggest concern is what me and my sister are gonna think about it and if we’re gonna want to come home for Christmas and want to come home for Thanksgiving, and if we’re gonna think it’s weird. So she’s doing everything in her power to make it feel as ‘home’ as possible.”
“She’s done a wonderful job. So, I love it,” he continued. “If I’m being honest, Charlotte is in the rearview mirror and it has been for quite some time. The new home is pretty, pretty awesome. It’s like a 35-minute drive for me. My parents are playing golf all the time. They’re retired [and] they’re like, ‘Come out whenever you want.’ I spent the Fourth of July weekend there. So, it’s nice.”
