Chelsea Meissner just had the sweetest celebration as she prepares to welcome her first child.
Just three months after announcing her pregnancy, the Southern Charm alum was treated to an outdoor baby shower with close friends and family. The intimate celebration took place on July 22 at a home in South Carolina, where guests enjoyed drinks, food, and “a lotta laughs.” Chelsea provided an inside look at the event on social media, sharing a series of photos of the beautiful decorations, table settings, and fashion moments.
Chelsea’s Beachy Baby Shower Decor
The theme gave off heavy tropical beach vibes with a hefty dose of… well, Southern charm. Coral, pastel pinks, and mint greens were seen throughout the decor, which was anchored by a lovely flowers-and-greenery motif. As seen in Chelsea’s Instagram Stories, the dining table was surrounded by bamboo chairs and covered with a palm leaf–patterned tablecloth. Though the tableware was kept relatively minimal (clear drinking glasses and white dinner plates), the settings were anything but boring, thanks to stunning details like wicker chargers, floral centerpieces, and wooden napkin rings.
The highlight of the decor, however, was the colorful balloon arch that towered over the table. The piece was created by Sophi Wells of Charleston Balloon Girl — a South Carolina business that specializes in party props, balloon garlands, and balloon walls.
“[Charleston Balloon Girl] outdid herself!” Chelsea wrote.
Chelsea shows off the one-of-a-kind hostess gifts
The mama-to-be also showcased the custom hostess gifts she commissioned: original art by Virginia-based creative Amanda Ryan Tucker. The individual paintings reflected the party’s beach theme and depicted each of the hosts surrounded by their children.
“Hostess gifts were a huge hit!” Chelsea said in an Instagram Story. “Thanks to the talented [Amanda Ryan Tucker]. I’ve loved her art for many years!”
What did Chelsea wear to her baby shower?
Chelsea’s baby shower ensemble went perfectly with the colorful decorations, as she opted for a pink midi dress with a ruched bodice, flowing cap sleeves, side cutouts, and tiered ruffles on the skirt. The Southern Charm alum completed her look with a slicked-back ponytail, silver bangles, a pendant necklace, hoop earrings, and a pair of beige open-toed heels.
Among the attendees was Southern Charm-er Naomie Olindo, who rocked a huipil-inspired quarter-sleeve dress. The garment — which was embroidered with flowers, pineapples, birds, and more — was complemented by a black shoulder bag and a pair of white Hermès sandals.
When is Chelsea’s baby due?
Chelsea took to Instagram on April 26 to announce she was expecting her first child. The hairstylist posted a video of her ultrasound photos and confirmed the baby was due sometime in September.
“The circle of life is a powerful thing,” she wrote, before referencing the death of her beloved dog. “When Tyson passed, I knew I could never love another soul nearly as much unless I had a child of my own. Now here we are with one on the way. You just never know what God has in store for you.”
Chelsea left Southern Charm after Season 7 and has remained pretty private ever since. She has not revealed the identity of the child’s father but suggested she would raise the baby with a partner.
“I’m so fortunate to have strong women in my life who have paved the road for me to motherhood and lucky to have one hell of a man!” she wrote on Instagram. “Here’s to a thick girl summer.”
