Take a Tour of Hannah Berner’s Eclectic, Colorful & Funky NYC Apartment (VIDEO)
The Summer House alum joked that her apartment is “old but beautiful… like my husband, [Des Bishop].”
We just got a peek inside Hannah Berner’s one-bedroom apartment in New York City, and considering the Summer House alum’s spunky personality, it’s everything we were expecting and more.
Scroll down to watch the video tour of her “humble abode,” and see why she has likened her aesthetics to a “crazy aunt.”
A Look Inside Hannah Berner’s New York City Apartment
Welcoming the audience into her high-rise apartment in a video shared on July 10 to her YouTube channel, Hannah wore a gray blazer over a light blue baby tee that had the words “DUMP HIM” in orange, calling back the look Britney Spears wore in the early 2000s. In other words: We immediately got a hint of the kitschy, fun design in store.
“The way I would describe my design taste is like your crazy aunt who’s taken too much Ayahuasca and loves cats and… she has a good time, I’ll tell you that!” Hannah quipped, calling attention to the funky colors, vintage pieces, and specific designs.
Right off the bat, we noticed a trove of different kinds of artwork on her walls, with everything from vintage prints her grandfather used to own to pieces from artists she found on Instagram and Etsy.
“Everything has a reason,” she was sure to note.
When it came to the apartment’s furniture, a standout piece was definitely her bold cobalt-blue bubble-style couch that took center stage in the living room. After hilariously likening it to a “BDSM torture chamber,” Hannah covered up with a “merch” blanket ($60) for the Giggly Squad podcast she co-hosts with Summer House cast member Paige DeSorbo.
More interesting pieces included several of her grandfather’s midcentury-modern chairs, a white floral-shaped kitchen table, and a beautiful credenza with two white marble lamps perched on top. “These lamps are cool because they’re marble, and marble means you’re rich,” Hannah joked.
Other notable baubles and objects lined a gold-and-glass bookshelf, while her grandfather’s vintage tennis racket definitely caught our eye.
Hannah’s multicolor theme continued throughout the space, with a retro-style kitchen that featured green cabinets, a blue-painted bathroom with black-and-white shower tile, and a unique bedroom with plenty of natural light.
“I wanted [the bedroom] to look like a teenage girl’s bedroom with some sass,” she stated, pointing to the purple walls and light gray bouclé fabric queen bed.
Hannah’s cream-colored vintage-style vanity also stood out, while the hand-shaped nightstand she got from Facebook marketplace again showed off her enviable eclectic taste.
“[The apartment] is old but beautiful… like my husband,” she quipped about her eccentric space, referencing her husband, Des Bishop, whom she married in May 2022.
