As the Summer House cast members are getting to know their new roommate Mya Allen, they've been very impressed with her ability to perfectly cook everything from bacon to lasagna. Mya is not only skilled in the kitchen, but she is also incredibly passionate about the food she makes. (Need proof? She even named her dogs Garlic "Clove" Aioli and Bucatini.)

How to Watch

Watch Summer House on Bravo Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

On the show's February 7 episode, Mya opened up about how her childhood influenced her culinary career today. "I've loved cooking since I could walk and talk," she said in an interview. "People often say I grew up in my dad's arms, and that was the only place where I wasn't crying. So him being the cook of our family meant that I was often in the kitchen."

While Mya has explained that she went to school for savory, her current interest is making sweet treats. "I've always loved to bake," she explained. "When I was eight, me and my sister made pound cakes for like local churches and organizations, and I pocketed all of the money. I'm a restaurant consultant by day, but my passion is my e-commerce cookie business called The Knead."

"My primary focus is to spread love through cookies," she added. "For now, it's a part-time gig, but I hope that one day it becomes my full-time job."
