Gigi Hadid’s Boot Is So Badass You Can Even Box In It
The supermodel/social queen designed a stacked-heel hiking boot for the masses.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid is back in the designing ring, this time with fancy shoe retailer Stuart Weitzman. The face of the brand’s Fall 2016 campaign, Hadid unveiled the Gigi Boot yesterday with a two-minute short film called #DoItRight directed by, oddly enough, James Franco. (Yes, we can hashtag that under #random.) In the film, we see Hadid facing several masked opponents in the boxing ring, and beating all of them—while looking sweaty and gorgeous—and doing so in her namesake boot, of course.
Described as a hiking boot with a heel, the Gigi Boot was clearly designed by Hadid for her squad of supermodel besties galavanting around Manhattan. “I was really thinking of myself in New York, running around everywhere during the day and at night,” she told Vogue.com. Available in three colors—a shiny gun-metal metallic and copper and a black crocodile leather—the boots have metallic hook and eye closures and a duo-tone shoelace that is purposely extra-long for wrapping around the ankle.
The collaboration also has a feel-good charitable component. The boot is being released under Weitzman's charity Pencils for Promise, which promises to build three schools in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos with the proceeds. Priced from $565 to $598, you can buy the boots here and they'll show up in a super chic GH-signed box.
