Connie Britton and Eric Bana Are Our New Favorite Duo After Presenting at the Emmy Awards
We'll see more of them when Dirty John premieres on Bravo later this year.
When we heard that Connie Britton and Eric Bana would be starring opposite each other in Bravo's upcoming series Dirty John, we couldn't wait to see two of our favorite actors finally together onscreen. And now the wait to see their chemistry is finally over.
Britton and Bana came together to present the award for Variety Talk Series during the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Monday night.
Britton looked stunning in her green floral gown, while Bana looked incredibly dapper in his navy blue tux.
Earlier in the night during NBC's red carpet coverage, Britton and Bana, who was attending his first Emmy Awards ceremony ever, were looking forward to the show's after parties. "We've got a late start tomorrow. It's dangerous," Bana told Natalie Morales.
But perhaps Britton and Bana won't actually be partying quite that hard. "We work pretty hard, so for us to have a fun night out is... I don't know. We'll probably fall asleep," Britton joked.
Dirty John is the true story of a woman named Debra Newell (Britton), who falls in love with the charismatic John Meehan (Bana). However, this whirlwind romance soon turns into a dark tale of deceit, manipulation, and survival for Debra and her whole family. Debra and John may look so love in these first-look photos, but the above sneak peek of the series shows that Dirty John is going to be anything but a fairytale.
In addition to starring in Dirty John, Britton and Bana also serve as executive producers on the series. "Yeah, it's just nice to be involved from the ground up and so too is Connie. And so we feel like good partners on this project," Bana told The Daily Dish in May. "I really love her work and [I'm] really excited to get a chance to work with her finally."
The cast of Dirty John also includes Jean Smart as Debra's mother Arlane Hart, Julia Garner and Juno Temple as Debra's daughters Terra and Veronica, respectively, Kevin Zegers as Debra's nephew Toby, Keiko Agena as Debra's co-worker Nancy, John Karna as Terra's boyfriend Jimmy, Sprague Grayden as John's first wife Tonia, and Cliff Chamberlain as John's best man from his first marriage Ethan.
Dirty John is set to premiere on Bravo later this year.
