5 Fitness Gurus You Should Be Following
Start the new year off right with help from bloggers, lifestyle coaches, and all-around fitness experts.
Anyone who works out knows that motivation can sometimes be hard to find. Some days you just want to stay in bed and relish those cozy covers rather than strap on your kicks and get to the gym. Well, in honor of our new series Work Out New York, we've gathered some fitness bloggers, lifestyle coaches, and all-around health gurus to help get you out of your slump and into great shape.
Take a look below at these need-to-know fitspiration masters.
1. CuckooLemon
This self-professed "goofy girl's fitness blog" is your go-to for a fun fitness blog that doesn't take itself too seriously. Blogger Nicole Haber tries out new workouts and may sometimes trip over her own shoelaces in the process. But it's that down to Earth point of view that makes us think, hey, we can do this, too!
2. Shapin' Up
From excellent workouts to healthy recipes and Paleo lifestyle tips, blogger, writer, and cycle instructor Amanda Shapin provides a one stop shop for all your fitness needs. Believe us, it's more than just a clever play on her name. You really will be "Shapin' Up" once you follow this blog.
3. Fitnuzz
If you're looking for some good Instagram inspiration, we can't think of anything better than Katherine Kerrick's Fitnuzz. If you're wondering why this Fit Model Trainer should be your Insta inspo, she'll tell you: "After moving to New York and gaining a significant amount of weight, I finally took back my life doing small workouts in my apartment and fueling my body properly. Three years later and thirty pounds lighter, I teach at SLT (pilates on crack) and write about health and wellness for the New York Observer." Anyone who can get fit in a New York City apartment is a goddes in our book (and did you see that killer body-ody above?). We're definitely nuts for Fitnuzz.
4. Run Selfie Repeat
Whether a beginner or a seasoned marathoner, if you're looking to hit the ground running (literally), then Run Selfie Repeat is the blog for you. Fitness blogger Kelly Roberts' story took off when she went "hottie hunting," or began taking selfies of sexy fellow runners during the New York City Marathon. Ah, a fitness pro after our own heart. If that amazing idea isn't enough to get you on board, Kelly provides an honest look at how running can suck, the reasons why you should keep on pushing, and the tools to help get you to the finish line.
5. Be Well With Arielle
Nutrition and healthy lifestyle coach Arielle Haspel's blog is basically every fitness foodie's dream. With cooking videos that help you "healthify your favorite foods so you can fall in love with your body and enjoy life guilt-free," we are all in on being well with Arielle. Did we mention she is Columbia University certified? Between that and her incredibly strong food porn Instagram game, we can't believe you're not following her already.
