6 Ways Pop Culture Changed Since We Met the Kardashians
We've been trying to #KUWTK for the last decade. Yes, DECADE.
Let's face it, celebrity and pop culture was forever shifted when we let the glam Kardashians into our living rooms 10(!!) years ago when Keeping Up with the Kardashians first hit the airwaves. The inescapable E! series first premiered on October 14, 2007, and has since spawned countless tabloid-ready romances, several spin-offs, and enough GIFs of Kim Kardashian crying to rival any kinds of mascara tears Lauren Conrad can conjure up. To celebrate the franchise's impressive 10-year anniversary, we're taking a look back at some of the ways that pop culture has changed since KUWTK premiered. It's about to get real, y'all!
1. Memes
Social media has exploded in the years since we met the Kardashians (probably because of the Kardashians), and the meme (usually an image accompanied by user-generated topical text) is one of the medium's most prolific forms of expression, for better or worse.
2. Instagram and Snapchat Stories
Mediums clearly created for the Kardashians, the Kweens of anything and everything social media.
3. All Unicorn Everything
Unicorns are back. They're to be found all over the place, including in food, fashion and tech trends. As well as Kylie Jenner's ever-evolving wig collection.
4. And Mermaids, Too
After some people got tired of unicorns, they moved on to mermaids. We wonder when we should expect that Good American pair of mermaid jeans. They are so on trend. Someone get Khloe Kardashian on the phone!
5. La Croix

Is there a drink trend more fitting for a post-Kardashian America?
6. Selfie Sticks
However, selfie sticks are really meant for mere mortals. The Kardashians use mirrors... for their nude selfies, naturally.
