9 Things You Didn't Know About Nikki Bella and Brie Bella
Get to know the E! and WWE sisters a little better.
Week in and week out, wrestling fans get to know Nikki and Brie Bella a little better on their E! show, Total Bellas. With Season 2 of Total Bellas slated to kick off this week, we wanted to get the scoop from the sisters themselves about what viewers should expect this time around (you can check out the video above for their juicy breakdown).
But if you're a novice when it comes to the wrestling starlets, The Daily Dish is here to help you get to know the twins a little better.
1. Nikki Is the Older Twin
According to E! News, she's 16 minutes older than Brie. The more you know!
2. They Are VERY Athletic
In addition to, you know, slaying in the wrestling ring, they also played soccer as kids for local teams growing up in Arizona. Nikki later played soccer in college at Grossmont College for a short time.
3. They Aren't New to Reality TV
Feeling like you've seem the Bella twins on the small screen before? Well, they previously appeared on Meet My Folks. Brie talked a bit about the experience in an interview in 2015: "Reality TV started becoming big when I was in college, around 2002. I remember everyone kept saying, 'Man, you guys should do reality.' And I was always like, 'I don't know.' But Meet My Folks wanted my sister and I to go on, and hey, when you're 19 and they want to give you a paycheck to have some fun? My sister and I were all about it. And sure enough, we felt so comfortable in front of the cameras." And, Total Bellas fans probably know they have also appeared on 7 seasons of Total Divas.
5. They Aren't New to High-Profile Relationships
Before Nikki said "yes," to John Cena's proposal earlier this year, Nikki dated another pro wrestler, Dolph Ziggler, for several years. (Prior to that, Nikki was married to her high school sweetheart for three years.)
And while Brie has found her happily ever after with retired WWE star Daniel Bryan, she previously dated former Poison guitarist Richie Kotzen for over five years.
5. They Know a Thing or Two About Content
Together the sisters have their own YouTube channel where they let fans even deeper into their lives — and give people even more sneak peeks into their life out of the ring with their kooky family and loved ones (We see you, John Cena).
6. They Are Entrepreneurs
They joined forces to start the BirdieBee clothing line, which according to the mission statement is "a pay it forward brand that represents feminine health & women's empowerment. We make panties with a purpose." They also recently announced they are launching a wine line, Belle Radici Wines.
7. Wrestling Is Close to Their Heart
They aren't just wrestlers who fell in love with wrestlers; oh no, their connection to the sport runs even deeper than that. Their mom, Kathy Colace, married John Laurinaitis, in 2016. You may know John better by his pro wrestling name: Johnny Ace.
8. Only One of Them Still Wrestles
Brie closed the chapter on her wrestling career in April 2016, nearly a decade after she first made her WWE debut. She stepped away from wrestling to start a family — and she and her hubby welcomed their first child, a little girl named TK, earlier this year. So you'll have to settle on just watching Nikki kick butt in the ring these days.
9. They Are Total Dolls
No, really! Earlier this year they became immortalized by Mattel.
