Alex McCord Gets Vocal for Arts Education
The Housewife laments looming cuts.
Marriage equality isn't the only issue on Alex McCord's social agenda. "Funding is being cut everywhere, and I'm glad I don't have the job of deciding what to keep and what to toss," the Real Housewives of New York City star writes in her column for Metro New York. "It always makes me sad, though, to hear of arts funding cuts."
Alex -- who revealed an acting background on the RHONY reunion that includes One Life to Live and the 2003 film Uptown Girls -- is also a proud supporter of the New York Foundation For The Arts. Not to mention, her Cobble Hill, Brooklyn home is probably filled with more artwork than some small galleries. "Whether it's theatre, sculpture or a traveling miniature model exhibit, art helps everyone get out of his or her heads for a moment and take a breath. If it's good, it takes their breath away, or gives them a laugh, or something to vent anger upon," she continues.
Upset about arts funding cuts in your state? Well then strap on your Herman Munster shoes and do something about it! "It's vital that arts foundations do as much fundraising outreach as possible to fill the gap," the modeling mom of two says.
