Alexis Bellino Asks Fans to Support St. Jude's

Housewife moved to tears over children's hospital's work.

By Lauren Metz

Go grab the tissues and get ready to dig deep. On her blog, Alexis Bellino shares a heart-tugging story that a fan named Vicki wrote to her. "My second son Jonathan was a patient at St. Jude's for six years," Vicki told the Real Housewives of Orange County star. "Sadly, he passed away at the age of nine and a half, but without their medical miracles we would not have been blessed to have him an extra six years. They never send you a bill, only billing your insurance and forgetting the rest. No insurance, No problem!"

Vicki, whose son passed away after his third relapse with leukemia, goes on to praise St. Jude's for continuously going above and beyond. "All children are accepted and loved. Plane fares are paid for, as well as hotel rooms, food, and gas if you decide to drive. St. Jude's also takes care of the parents, emotionally and physically, having counselors on call 24/7 for anything and everything, at no charge."

Alexis confesses she was brought to tears and told her fans, "Vicki's words seemed to me to be describing something impossible – how could it be that such an amazing facility could afford all it needed, give it all away, and still maintain the highest standards of care in the country? Volunteer donations? You bet."

If you'd like to donate to St. Jude's, Alexis encourages you to visit www.stjude.org and click on the "Donate Now" page.
