All About Tamra Barney's Wedding Dress—and Her Cuff
Get the scoop on her "unique" Diann Valentine-designed bracelet.
Tamra Barney (now Tamra Judge!) knew one thing for sure before she walked down the aisle: She was going to look good!
The Real Housewives of Orange County star, who dove into marital bliss with fiancé Eddie back in June, gave an in-depth look at her journey to the altar on Tamra's OC Wedding. Now, she's offering up details about everything from her three gowns—to the striking cuff she wore while walking down the aisle.
For the ceremony, Tamra wore a bridal cuff designed by Diann Valentine. But this wasn't just any normal bracelet; the custom-made cuff featured hanging crystals and cascading Phalaenopsis orchids and was designed by Valentine and Justin Howard of Flaming Flower Productions. For Tamra, it was a piece of dream jewelry.
"I'd never seen anything like the bridal cuff Diann Valentine made me," Tamra tells The Dish. "It was so unique, modern and fashion forward, like a piece of art."
"My goal was to design a bridal bouquet for her that matched the sophistication of Mark Zunino’s masterpiece," Valentine told People Magazine. "The bridal cuff is a way for a bride to have that feminine accent of flowers without looking like your 'run of the mill bride' clutching a nosegay. Tamra carried it off perfectly."
The Mark Zunino-designed dress was sophisticated, but needed to compliment the jewelry instead of overpowering it. They settled on a full-skirted piece that was hand-beaded with platinum metallic thread embroidery and flounce panels in blush and ivory.
"Tamra wanted it to be dramatic, but fluid and sort of organic in design," Mark told People. "She was really hands-on, and passionate about the design."
Luckily, Tamra was thrilled with Mark's creation.
"All my dresses were beautiful. Picking my favorite would be like asking me to pick my favorite child, not possible," she says in retrospect. "I would have to say that my ceremony dress is the most sentimental to me. The blush beaded gown fit like a glove but weighed a lot and was hard to walk in. After a few hours in that dress, I was ready for the slinky, comfortable reception dress. My short dress was fun and moved well while performing the cha-cha!"
