Anderson Cooper Has Broken Up With Boyfriend Benjamin Maisani After Nearly a Decade Together
"We remain the best of friends and will continue to share much of our lives together," the CNN anchor shared.
It's been a sad week in couple news. First, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik called it quits (for now, at least). And now, we've gotten word that Anderson Cooper and his longtime boyfriend Benjamin Maisani will go their separate ways.
The CNN anchor dated the nightclub owner for nine years, and it seems that the couple is keeping things very cordial. It also seems that Cooper and Maisani, while still close, haven't been romantically involved in some time.
In a statement to DailyMail.com, Cooper said: "Benjamin and I separated as boyfriends some time ago. We are still family to each other, and love each other very much. We remain the best of friends, and will continue to share much of our lives together."
If rumors are true, the former boyfriends' lives are still very much shared: allegedly, Cooper and Maisani are still living together in Greenwich Village, and were spotted leaving the house together and heading to the gym mere days ago.
As for what's next, who's to say? Cooper has allegedly been spotted with Dallas radiologist Victor Lopez (who could, admittedly, just be a friend). But, as Gigi said earlier this week: "Whatever's meant to be will always be."
