Andy Buckley: From #OddMomOut to 'Jurassic World'

The actor opens up about the record-breaking dino flick-- and what's next for Odd Mom Out.

It's a Jurassic World and we're just living in it. The latest installment of the Jurassic Park movies opened this weekend, taking in an impressive $204.6 million in the domestic box office. It would also become the highest film to open globally ever with a whopping $511.8 million.

In addition to Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Judy Greer and Vincent D'Onofrio, Jurassic World's cast includes #OddMomOut star Andy Buckley, who admits he has been a "a tremendous fan" of the Jurassic universe before he even stepped on set.

He tells the Daily Dish exclusively that he finds the films "exciting, scary, just a blast to watch! Like Jaws and many other Steven Spielberg movies, it was groundbreaking from the filmmaker's standpoint. But just as a guy at movies, they were spectacular - especially the first one, which Jurassic World is more in line with - spectacular!"

And while he can't seem to reel in his enthusiasm for the flicks, he also has equally kind words for the star, Chris Pratt, who he had never met before despite each having starred on NBC comedies (Andy on The Office and Chris on Parks and Recreation).

"I went out to visit the raptor set the first night [and] I arrived and went up to him to say 'Hello'," he recalls. "Boy did he look like a movie star hero. He just did and then [he] couldn't have been a nicer guy, more welcoming guy-- much like [The Office star] Steve Carell, just a sweet, relaxed, regular guy out there doing his job. Which in this case, just happens to be the male action hero in the billion dollar movie!"

With the filming stomping all over the competition at the box office, Monday is proving to be a good day for Andy. Tonight a new episode of Odd Mom Out airs, which begs the question: Who's scarier Upper East Side Momzillas or the dinos?

"The UES Momzillas!" he says. "They seem smarter, more vengeful, won't let something go. With the raptors, if they don't get you initially, they'll move on. Feels like the Momzillas will remember and get you years later."

With that in mind, he weighed in on what dinosaurs his co-stars would be. "Well Brooke [Abby Elliott] and Candace [Joanna Cassidy] would be 'Von' Dinos," he imagines. "Von Raptors probably…they'd get a kick out of killing for fun! And Jill [Jill Kargman] might be a T Rex, a responsible mother who'll fight for her kids…. though she's the funniest one who also enjoys her wine and chocolates!"

Next up for Andy is more #OddMomOut-- which he teases will leave fans in stitches as the season continues.

"I think it just gets better and better, and funnier and funnier," he shares. "The writing is just so sharp. I would burst out laughing 4-5 times reading each script."

And-- brace yourself-- things are about to sexy, with a capital S! "There's some sexual experimentation between me and Jill," he says. "Actually, there are a few surprising funny sexual twists with a number of characters. Some story lines get a bit more outrageous, though they are all based in reality and what most of those watching have to deal with at one time or another. Whether it's career questions, testing of friendships, parenting issues, money issues, staying true to who you are and wish to be; all things we have to deal with - and hopefully we keep you laughing as it's all happening!"
