Andy Cohen Offers a Peek Under the Cover of his New Book
Tales of Oprah, Housewives, and Jewish go-go dancers.
Watch What Happens: Live may have moved to 5 nights a week, but host Andy Cohen seems to be going 24/7, working the media yesterday to promote his new book, Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture.
USA Today was there for Andy's "very funny dramatic reading" of his memoir at a promo lunch in NYC yesterday at the Palm West End Steakhouse. The New York Observer, noted the uber-Bravoleb is "always one of the more delightful New York celebrities to run into," calling out "a grey, dapper suit by Hugo Boss."
Andy read about a long family car trip (made longer for his relatives by his non-stop chatter), and about some fairly tragic run-ins with his idol Oprah Winfrey when he worked at CBS. Andy said his book follows the rise of a TV-loving kid and "begins and ends with Susan Lucci" (as all great journeys do). "I had to get over this block that no one would be interested in the childhood of a closeted gay kid that sat this close to the TV set all the time," Andy told reporters at the start of his reading.
But of course, the book will also have juicy tidbits about The Real Housewives franchise and his days as a "Jewish go-go dancer." The whole story finally arrives on May 8 (though you can pre-order now in Shop by Bravo).
