Andy Cohen Officiated a Wedding with the Help of Kandi Burruss and Erika Girardi on WWHL
The celebration also included treats from Top Chef alum Stephanie Cmar and a performance by the legendary Patti LaBelle.
Wedding bells were ringing on the June 28 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen! With the help of Kandi Burruss and Erika Girardi, host Andy Cohen officiated a wedding for two major Bravo fans named Robert and Justin, whose “I do” plans were cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Robert and Justin, a couple from Orange County, have been together for 10 years after meeting at the apartment complex where they both happened to live.
"We got engaged last November. We were planning to do a destination wedding, but COVID happened,” explained Justin when asked why the couple was excited to get married on WWHL. "We were like, hey, why not? We're huge Bravo fans, and here we are."
"We know that throwing a wedding in the midst of a global pandemic can be challenging, so we went ahead and took care of some of the essentials," said Andy before bringing in their favorite 'Wives.
Kandi stepped in as Robert's surprise matron of honor, while Erika virtually stood by Justin's side for the ceremony.
"I'm a huge Erika Jayne fan," said Justin. "I have your book! We were at your concert when they were filming!"
For the reception, legendary singer Patti LaBelle performed her hit song, "Love, Need, and Want You," which you can watch in the video below. She also had some expert advice for the newlyweds, sharing, "Stay together as long as you can, and that should be for life. But every now and then, have a two week vacation from each other, and that'll make you love even harder when you get back."
Justin and Robert are also huge fans of Bravo's Top Chef, so alum Stephanie Cmar whipped up some beautiful Persian Love Cupcakes for the occasion.
During the Moment of Mazel, Robert and Justin walked away with some gorgeous wedding gifts, too. The RealReal gifted them with Cartier watches, and Andy and the WWHL crew gave them Louis Vuitton travel bags.
The RealReal is donating a portion of proceeds to the National Black Justice Coalition from all sales between June 28 and June 30.
