You Won't Believe What Andy Cohen Just Revealed About the New Season Of RHONY
The Bravo host had lots of praise for Season 14 of The Real Housewives Of New York City when he dished with Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
Andy Cohen is teasing the new season of The Real Housewives of New York City after his staff have watched the first few episodes — telling viewers “they are beyond” enthusiastic for the new cast.
The Las Culturistas podcast co-hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers joined Cohen in the clubhouse for Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on June 19, and Cohen got the pair excited about the new housewives, who the hosts are eager to know more about. Rogers asked Cohen to compare the rebooted NYC to the tone of another housewives franchise — and with some help from the control room, Cohen replied, “maybe Miami.”
Both Yang and Rogers were excited about this answer, with Rogers replying, “that’s huge, because Miami is officially the best franchise,” to which Bowen wholeheartedly agreed.
It’s one of the first teases Cohen has given for the rebooted Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York City, which premieres Sunday, July 16, at 9/8c. He previously said on his Sirius XM show that Season 14 is “fun. What can I say?”
The new RHONY cast includes Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank and Brynn Whitfield. Bravoholics are slowly been learning more details about the ladies. For example, Lichy works as a real estate agent for Douglas Elliman as part of Million Dollar Listing alum Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes’ New York Team. Then there's Hassan, who runs a spicy hot sauce business called Ubah Hot. And fashion icon Lyons appears to be single and dating in a First Look for the season.
Cohen’s reveal also comes as previous New York housewives are in the spotlight. A new season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, featuring legacy NYC ‘Wives just wrapped up filming. RHONY: Legacy features Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, and Kristen Taekman as they vacation in St. Bart’s in the Caribbean. Just like previous RHUGT seasons, this Big Apple cast also gave us their best beach catwalk on social media to the 1980s single “Don’t You Want Me" by the Human League.
De Lesseps and Morgan will also return to Bravo in their new series, Luann and Sonja: Welcome To Crappie Lake, premiering Sunday, July 9. Cohen gave their new spinoff a shoutout on WWHL as well, telling Yang and Rogers, “you guys are not ready.”
In the show, Morgan and de Lesseps will travel from NYC to Benton, Illinois and get a taste of small town life while working to revitalize the town.
Here’s hoping for more teases from Andy Cohen during WWHL, airing Sundays through Thursdays on Bravo and the next day on Peacock.
