Andy Cohen Reveals How He Knew He Was Ready to Have Kids
The WWHL host is sharing his "approach" to becoming a parent.
Andy Cohen is opening up about his decision to start a family. The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host shared how he knew he was ready to have a child during a recent installment of his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy.
During the episode aired on February 23, Andy, who welcomed son Benjamin Allen Cohen via surrogate back in 2019, chatted with guest and longtime friend John Mayer about his plans for fatherhood. When asked what age he thinks he will have kids, Mayer replied, “My dad was 50 when he had me,” to which Andy added, “I was 50 when I had Ben.”
Andy went on to explain why he waited until he was 50 years old to welcome a child, revealing his “approach” was to make sure he felt ready for parenthood rather than let a specific age dictate the decision.

This isn’t the first time that Andy has tackled a question about fatherhood in recent weeks. On an episode of WWHL earlier this month, he also revealed which Bravoleb he would let babysit his two-year-old son.
