Andy Cohen Just Made a "Rare" Change to His NYC Apartment Before Putting It on the Market
The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host revealed what makes him "really happy" about a recent update to the apartment he's about to put on the market.
Andy Cohen lives in a gorgeous apartment in New York City’s West Village neighborhood. Although the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host is selling his stunning abode (more on that later), he's still making sure the place stays up-to-date with all its aesthetic flourishes and fixtures.
On August 16, Andy hopped on his Instagram Stories to reveal his mission for the day: an "annual pilgrimage to the light bulb store" to pick up a replacement bulb for one of his sconces. He revealed that the skinny, oval-shaped light bulb he needed to replace was "rare," making his journey potentially difficult.
Andy was also sure to point out that though he is putting his West Village apartment "on the market," he still needs to attend to some of these details.
The father of two then hit up his favorite lightbulb store, Bulbs NYC. He was initially taken aback by the store's empty facade but was relieved to find it had moved across the street.
"Guess what? They took care of me at the bulb store," he shared. "I just can't get over that there's a lightbulb store and it makes me really happy."
Andy then returned to his cozy abode to reveal how the new bulb worked perfectly with the wall sconce that sits opposite his other sconce in a sitting area.
We also got a peek inside Andy's lovely apartment space, seeing how he outfitted the dining/seating area with plenty of cozy cushions and a white rectangular table with numerous chairs overlooking the Manhattan skyline.
Inside Andy Cohen's Office
In addition to the above seating area, Andy recently showed off his stunning, unique office space (the likes of which you can revisit in the video above).
On August 15, Andy showed how he "de-cluttered" his office space, revealing the clean area's '70s-style aesthetic. Andy's office (which echoes his WWHL set) features floor-to-ceiling wood paneling and built-in bookshelves which he decorated with numerous books and art objects.
"De-cluttered my office today!" Andy wrote over the snap of his office, which also has a multicolored striped area rug, tan leather desk chair, and two grey glen plaid chairs on the other side.
Andy Cohen Is Selling His West Village Apartment
Though Andy has spent some time sprucing up his West Village home, he revealed his plans for selling it in December 2023, noting he was “figuring out [his] real estate.”
“I’m finishing this beach house,” he stated on the Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi podcast about, adding that he was also "working on a new apartment in the city.”
The Daddy Diaries author didn't go into detail about what he had planned for a new apartment (that's listed by Million Dollar Listing New York agent Ryan Serhant, by the way), but he did share more of his thought process behind his Hamptons vacation home.
“I stayed in that beach house for 28 years, and I loved it so much,” he said on the podcast. “It was a sweet little love shack. I always said the only thing that would get me to leave this house would be if I was ever lucky enough to have a house on the ocean. And I actually never envisioned myself able to afford that. That was not in my realm… I just came from the walk-through at my new beach house, which will be done, god knows when. Maybe the end of the year.”
