Is There a Feud Between Peter Thomas and Apollo Nida?
Cynthia Bailey gives an update on the status of the #RHOA husbands' friendship.
Apollo Nida's Instagram profile wasn't updated with new posts for almost a year as he continued to serve his eight years in prison for fraud. However, the one that broke this dry spell was a doozy. The post featured a photo of Apollo and Peter Thomas with the caption, "CRAZY WORLD RIGHT!! I GUESS IT's TRUE THAT IN TIME ONE WILL SEE WHOM THEIR FAKE FRIENDS REALLY ARE!!"
Apollo, the estranged husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Phaedra Parks, later elaborated on the post via his team on Instagram. "Over all Apollo said he respects Peter's drive & business sense, but over all Apollo states he is just a little hurt because it's been well over a year and he hasn't heard from Peter Thomas and Apollo thought they were boys and Peter had his back and would stay down," according to the post. "Apollo said the relationship was never fake on his part so what's the issue with allowing everyone to know how he feels. Apollo says his & Peter Thomas's friendship started with you all watching, so Apollo doesn't mind letting you all know how he feels."
When Peter's wife and RHOA cast member Cynthia Bailey heard about Apollo's comments, she was just as confused about what inspired them as her husband, who was a confidant to Apollo on the show before he went to prison in September 2014. “I wasn’t sure what that was all about. I was the one that called Peter. I was like, ‘What in the world is going on? Apollo’s, like, posting something about you and him on social media,’" Cynthia told The Daily Dish. "He looked at it and didn’t know what was going on. He hadn’t spoken to him in a while because he can only talk to Apollo if Apollo calls, obviously."
Peter posted a response on Instagram shortly after Apollo's comments hit the photo-sharing platform. "Wow!! Fake friend, never that, my number hasn't [sic] change," Peter wrote in the caption to a photo of himself with Apollo. "Still holding it down for everyone I love, including you my brother."
Luckily, Apollo and Peter seem to have squashed any potential beef that may have been brewing between them. "[Peter] actually told me about three or four days ago, Apollo called him. And they talked and Apollo was apologizing. It’s tough. You know, he’s in prison, so I guess he was saying something about his feelings about this, that, and the other — and I don’t really want to get into it because it wasn’t really so much about Peter at the end of the day — about his situation, about his life, which is really none of our business. But, you know, he did call him and just kind of started venting about some things," Cynthia said. "I just think he was kind of having a moment, was frustrated, and it is what it is. But they talked, and he apologized, and I think they’re good now.”
So has the temporary tension between Peter and Apollo had any affect on Cynthia's relationship with Phaedra? “I don’t think so. I don’t really have that much of a relationship with Phaedra outside of the show," Cynthia told The Daily Dish. "As far as I’m concerned, we’re good.”
The last time Cynthia got involved in some drama concerning Apollo and Phaedra, things didn't end well, of course. Relive that unforgettable moment from last season of RHOA in the clip, below.
