Robyn Dixon Reveals Why She's Not in Couples Therapy with Juan Dixon
Amid Juan's job loss, Robyn explained why it isn't a priority for the spouses to seek counseling.
Robyn Dixon is standing by Juan Dixon's side amid rumors about their marriage on The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8, but have the two sought any advice from an outside party?
After the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Maryland, Juan lost his position as the head coach of the Coppin State University men's basketball team. Though Juan and Robyn are dealing with numerous hurdles in their relationship, the spouses have not gone to see a couples therapist.
On RHOP Season 8, Episode 11, which aired on January 28, Robyn explained why.
Why Robyn Dixon and Juan Dixon Aren't in Couple's Therapy
While visiting The Salt Sanctuary with castmate Mia Thornton, Robyn opened up about the recent trials and tribulations in her marriage. Though Mia and her now-estranged husband, Gordon Thornton, highlighted a session with a couples' therapist on the show, Robyn shared that her and Juan have not been seeking professional help.
"We're not in therapy, no," Robyn said when Mia asked her about therapy.
"At all?" Mia asked, before referencing Juan's recent job loss. "Not even with everything that's going on?"
"No," Robyn reiterated, and Mia then asked if she thinks she should be going.
"Um, no, I really think — our issues are not with each other," Robyn explained. "Like, our issues are more just like, 'OK, let's just enjoy life more.'"
Mia wondered if Juan losing his job meant that the two were "forcing the things that [they] really needed."
"Yeah," Robyn agreed.
Robyn Dixon Shares an Update on Juan Dixon's Job Situation
While appearing on the January 7 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Robyn revealed that Juan has not yet gotten a new job, but he is using his extra time to be with his loved ones.
"He decided to spend the year off and [to] spend more time with the family, and with the kids," she said, noting that he's also "volunteering with [their] son's high school team."
Juan's been valuing all of the quality time he's getting with Robyn and their boys, Corey and Carter. "He appreciates it now..." she added. "We all do."
Mia Thornton Hints at Her Own Divorce on RHOP
Robyn wasn't the only one who discussed the changes in her marriage on RHOP Season 8, Episode 11.
"I have been through a lot these last couple of months," Mia admitted in an interview on the episode about her marital issues with Gordon. "So I am trying all avenues of holistic wellness. Just cleanse me."
In the salt sanctuary, Mia opened up to Robyn about the status of her marriage.
"You know we're going through a lot, right?" Mia said, before confirming that the recent change in their finances is partially to blame. "Before this whole crisis, I had actually retained a lawyer to file for divorce."
However, Mia said, things had improved.
"We're pushing through it," she told Robyn, though Mia did formally announce her separation from Gordon in September 2023.
