So, Is Tom Sandoval Still Friends with James Kennedy After the Vanderpump Rules Reunion?
Their friendship often came under fire in Season 7 of Vanderpump Rules.
James Kennedy didn't have many friends among the Vanderpump Rules crew at the Season 7 reunion. We mean, even reunion host Andy Cohen lost his patience with the DJ at one point. However, there was one SURver who still went to bat for James, even if the rest of the squad was pretty much done with him: Tom Sandoval.
Tom came to James' defense quite a bit during the Season 7 reunion, which many of his friends did not approve of, including Jax Taylor, who temporarily cut the bartender from his wedding party (don't worry, Jax later reinstated Tom as one of his best men, along with Tom Schwartz). "You're the only person that wants [James] here!" Jax said to Tom during a break from the reunion backstage (clip above). "It's the weirdest thing!"
Tom explained to Jax he didn't think it was fair for everyone to be ganging up on James when he tried to say his piece during the reunion. "Yeah, but guess what? When James starts talking, it's nine people coming at him," he told his friend behind the scenes.
But now that several weeks have passed since the reunion and Tom has been able to reflect on all of the drama sticking up for James caused, is this controversial friendship still going strong?
It is, and we have an iconic photo to prove it. Tom went out on the town with James, as well as their girlfriends, Ariana Madix and Raquel Leviss, respectively, and friend Jesse Montana on Thursday, May 30. Not only did they take an adorable group photo, but James can also be seen planting a kiss on Tom's cheek. Honestly, this may just be the cutest thing you'll see all day.
Tom also captured some vids of their night out in his Instagram Story, one of which shows James referring to them as "the two best friends anyone could ask for."
It appears that things have quieted down between James and much of the Vanderpump Rules cast as of late. Jax told ET earlier this month that he apologized for escalating things with James and Raquel during the reunion. "You know, you get into these reunions, you haven't seen any of these people in a long time, you got pent up aggression or whatever, and sometimes you say things you don't mean or you say things you do mean, but it was taken a little bit out of context," he shared. "I apologized. It is what it is."
James and Raquel are also moving in a more positive direction with Lala Kent these days. "Lala's reached out. We're chatting, we're texting and hopefully gonna meet up for lunch maybe this coming week and catch up a little bit in person," James told to TooFab earlier this month. "But yeah, we're definitely texting. If I saw her today, I'd say hi."
