Armie Hammer and Amber Tamblyn Just Shut Down James Woods' Scathing Criticism of May-December Romances
It started when Woods shared that the premise of Hammer's flick will "chip away the last barriers of decency."
After James Woods had an issue with the age difference between the two characters in Armie Hammer's new film, Call Me By Your Name, the movie's star, as well as another notable Hollywood celeb, stepped up to clap back at the actor. Woods took issue with the film that centers around Hammer's 24-year-old character and his romance with a 17-year-old, played by Timothée Chalamet.
His comment quickly escalated when Hammer took to Twitter to point out that Woods is not exactly a stranger when it comes to dating a younger person. (According to E! News, Woods dated 19-year-old Ashley Madison when he was 59. They dated for about seven years before he started a relationship with 20-year-old Kristen Bauguess in 2013; he was 66 at the time.)
That's when Amber Tamblyn recalled her own experience with the actor, sharing, "James Woods tried to pick me and my friend up at a restaurant once. He wanted to take us to Vegas. 'I'm 16' I said. 'Even better' he said."
Woods then fired back on Twitter again.
