Ashlee Holmes' Mother's Day Tribute to Her Son Might Leave You Teary Eyed

The #RHONJ daughter wrote the sweetest messages for her tot and mom.

By Jocelyn Vena

Ashlee Holmes had the pleasure of celebrating her first-ever Mother's Day this past weekend. It was a momentous occasion that certainly left The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter feeling all kinds of sentimental, and she waxed all about just that on Instagram in a touching tribute to the way her young son has changed her life.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/7c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

"This time last year I was VERY pregnant with @cameronmalleo. Today, I celebrated my first Mother's Day with him. Throughout my pregnancy, people told me that I'd never feel a love like this one. As cliché as it may sound, they were right. The second they placed him in my arms I felt such an overwhelming feeling of love --a kind I had never experienced before. Cameron, you are my everything. These last 8 months with you have taught me so much. I'm still learning how this whole mom thing works, I promise to keep doing my best," she wrote. "Time is going by so quickly, I'm trying to cherish every moment. You are handsome, curious, silly and just so amazing. You are the happiest ray of light in my life."

Ashlee also acknowledged how difficult and joyous being a mom can be. "Most moms on here today have talked about how blissful motherhood is... I'd like to acknowledge the other parts too. Here's to sacrificing our bodies, all of the stretch marks, the stubborn belly fat, the sore nipples, the deflated breasts, the sleepless nights, the hormones, the postpartum depression, the dirty diapers, all the failed attempts trying to get our babies to sleep when we'd like them to, the defeated frustration that overwhelms us whenever they refuse to let us put them down -even just for a second, here's to always smelling like sour milk, to the throw up that's somewhere in our hair and the poop that's undoubtedly under our nails, to the days we've been forced to choose between getting the house clean or getting ourselves clean, to all the mini anxiety attacks, and I KNOW I'm forgetting a few things lol. Being a mom isn't always kisses and cuddles, it's all of it. All of that other stuff is what truly makes moms absolute rockstars in my eyes. Showing and accepting affection is the easy part. But powering through all of that other stuff to be there for your child? That's love. That's being a mom," she added. "Cameron, you make every single moment worth it. You turn my bad days around just by being in my life. Thank you for picking me to be your mommy. Thank you for truly showing me what love is. I will love you unconditionally with everything I have forever. To my moms, grandmas, aunts, cousins, single moms/ALL of the mamas out there: THANK YOU! You are appreciated."

Ashlee also sent some love to her own mom, Jacqueline Laurita, with her an adorable throwback mother-daughter moment. "And a special shout out to my hot AF mom @jaclaurita for just being such a great mother. 'Not a regular mom, a cool mom.' She's just always been cooler than me, and I continue to learn from her daily," Ashlee wrote. "Thank you for everything you've done and continue to do. (And thanks to my Nana @bsgrippe because we BOTH wouldn't be here *literally* without her) Happy Mother's Day!"

Oh, and by the way, Cameron may only be a baby but he also made sure to pay tribute to his mom.

Happy Mother's Day Mama! Here's a throwback to one of our sleepless nights together 💞
