Turns Out This Housewives Husband Was the "Brainchild" of the RHOP Pizza Delivery Stunt
Ashley Darby and Robyn Dixon share some surprising new info about the infamous pizza drop at the Huger home.
On the Season 3 finale of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, and Robyn Dixon decided to satisfy their curiosity once and for all and find out for themselves if Karen Huger really lives in that Great Falls, Virginia mansion like she claimed all season (clip above). The three dressed up in disguises and drove to Great Falls, where Robyn (dressed as a pizza delivery man) knocked on the door to see if the Hugers were actually living there. While no one came to the door and questions were left unanswered, the ladies definitely had a few giggles during their prank. What didn't get revealed in the episode was that Gizelle, Ashley, and Robyn didn't actually come up with the idea to deliver pizzas — and you'll never guess who did.
"A little birdie told me that Karen does not live at her house in Great Falls. If she couldnt afford to pay her mortgage for the house in Potomac, how could she afford a $10,000 [a month] rent for this beautiful McMansion in Great Falls? It wasn't adding up. So Michael said, 'Well, why don't you find out?' I was like, 'Huh. Good idea.' So really Michael was the brainchild behind that," Ashley revealed to The Daily Dish podcast, noting her husband's role in the plan. (Of course, that's not the only time Michael inserted himself in the ladies' suspicious about the Hugers; check out the clip from the season finale below to see the moment when he asks Ray Huger where he really lives.)
Robyn, who was the one who actually walked up to the house and left the pizza on the doorstep, is still mystified how she got stuck with the role. "How I became the delivery man, I do not know," she told The Daily Dish podcast. "Honestly, I just like to laugh and have fun and be silly and goofy, and I looked at it like a fun moment. I mean, what's the worst that can happen? She answers the door and I'm like, 'Here's your pizza.'"
It's especially funny that Robyn ended up as the person to ring the doorbell considering that she didn't share Gizelle and Ashley's strong belief that Karen didn't live at the house. Robyn said that she's always believed Karen lived there — and she still believes she does. "Who would just get a house and stage it and not live there? But I'm like, ok, I'm along for the ride."
