After announcing their separation in April, Ashley Darby and Michael Darby are working together to remain successful co-parents to their sons, Dean and Dylan. The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member recently took to Instagram to post a sweet shout-out to Michael in honor of Father’s Day, revealing why she’s “so thankful” for the type of dad he is to their kids.

On June 19, Ashley commemorated the special occasion by penning a heartfelt tribute to Michael on Instagram. The RHOP mom shared a precious photo of the father-son trio sharing a laugh while sitting together on a couch.

“I am so thankful to you for the father you are to these two incredible boys,” Ashley wrote in the caption of the sweet snapshot. “The way your eyes light up whenever you see them really touches my heart. Happy Father’s Day, Mickey!”

Ashley confirmed in an exclusive statement to The Daily Dish that she and Michael had decided to separate, reiterating that they will continue to prioritize their sons.

"While our romantic bond is broken, we will always love and respect each other. We also know that true happiness can only be achieved by continuing to work together and putting our hearts and souls into raising our two beautiful boys, Dean and Dylan,” the statement read. “They will always feel loved and supported, for they were truly created out of love. As this is a personal matter for us, we appreciate everyone who has been a part of our journey and ask for your continued support by respecting us as we go through this emotional situation.”

Since revealing the news of her split, Ashley has been opening up with fans about the next phase of her life. Last month, she shared an empowering message on Instagramwriting, “I finally understand — LIFE IS TRULY WHAT YOU MAKE IT! And I’m going to make it mine.”

RHOP is streaming on Peacock and available on the Bravo app.
