Ashley Darby Is Experiencing Some "Surprising" Pregnancy Symptoms
Ashley Darby recently had an "especially bad" day with nausea and heartburn during her pregnancy.
Now that Ashley Darby is expecting her first child, The Real Housewives of Potomac restaurateur has quickly learned that being pregnant does have its challenging moments.
Ashley updated fans on how her pregnancy is going in an Instagram Story posted earlier this week. In the video, Ashley shared that she is officially 21 weeks pregnant, and her little one is about the size of a banana. "Baby Darby is doing great," Ashley said.
However, Ashley herself isn't doing so great. "As for how I'm feeling, I must say that I'm actually experiencing more severe nausea in my second trimester than I did in my first trimester, which is a little surprising for me, but, OK, I'll take it," she shared. "And the newest symptom, which I have been talking about with my other pregnant mommies is this deep burning, gurgling heartburn. Today it was especially bad."
Ashley went on to say that she is trying to stay active in an effort to counteract the heartburn. "So I am trying to work through it," she said. "I'm going to the gym now to try to exercise a little bit, get things moving, get my body going."
The love and support Ashley has received from fans is also helping her overcome these obstacles. "I've gotten so many beautiful messages from you, and I very much appreciate it," she gushed in her Instagram Story. "I love you all so much, honestly I do."
Ashley also seems to be using humor to help her get through any tough times during her pregnancy. She recently posted side-by-side photos of herself (right) and her husband, Michael Darby (left), when they were babies, along with this cheeky caption: "Michael and I were both born with bald melon heads. This heartburn from Baby Darby is making us all wonder - what's going on in there little cutie?"
Ashley announced that she is expecting her first child with Michael earlier this month. She also gave The Daily Dish an exclusive first peek at her baby bump, which you can see in the above video. "I've always wondered what this would feel like — carrying a being inside of my body — but actually being pregnant is more incredible than I could have imagined,” Ashley said in a statement to The Daily Dish at the time. “Through all of our past heartbreak, this is the most incredible gift we could ever receive."
Ashley and Michael are keeping the gender of their baby a surprise for now, and they have been "going back and forth with names," she told PEOPLE earlier this month. Baby Darby is expected to arrive in July.
Ashley opened up to The Daily Dish about the challenges she faced in getting pregnant backstage at the RHOP Season 3 reunion last year, which you can check out, below.
