Continued flooding in Australia has claimed the lives of at least 22 people, dozens more are still missing, and countless homes have been washed away with the tides.

"Is your family safe? Let me know how to help," The Real Housewives of New York City's Jill Zarin tweeted to co-star Alex McCord's Australian-born husband Simon van Kempen.

"Spoke to them last night," Simon replied. "They are 90 miles Sth of Brisbane & only have a little flooding so far. Both my Brothers wisely live high on hills." Simon continued tweeting, "I remember the 74 floods well (I was in Isle of Capri on the Gold Coast at my Grandmothers house) but this is way worse."

The natural disaster also had a personal affect on Australia native Tabatha Coffey, who wrote on her Twitter page, "To all my family friends and fans in Queensland my thought and prayers are with you all stay safe."

NBC reports that by tomorrow, 9,000 homes are expected to be flooded. The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Gretchen Rossi expressed her sympathy on Twitter, noting that she's "praying for everyone," she said.

Our thoughts are with you and your families, Simon and Tabatha. Want to help? Simon tweets, "Donations can be sent to http://bit.ly/haJdyM or http://bit.ly/DonateFloods ... Here's a link to the Aust Embassy site in Washington DC http://bit.ly/haJdyM with further links to donate to the Queensland Flood Appeal."
