Retta Once Had the Most Awkwardly Amazing Run-In with This Hollywood Legend

No one can resist the glitz and glamour of awards season, especially Retta. "The first time I went to the Emmys was amazing," the Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce star recalled to The Daily Dish. "I had someone make me a dress, like made for me." 

But there can also be a downside to major entertainment events like awards shows. "It's overwhelming. There's so. Many. People. And so. Many. Cameras," she said. "But it's one of those things, like you always want to go, you always want to go, but when you finally go, you're like, 'Oh, this is too much.'"

Instead, Retta said that what goes down after the awards show is really her jam. "I love the parties. That's my favorite thing. Nothing makes me happier than watching famous people get drunk and dance. It really is the one thing that make me the happiest," Retta gushed. "To sit back and watch people and you're like, 'Oh, so you're that type of drunk. Got it. And you're that type of drunk. Got it.' That's my favorite thing. That's what I look forward to during awards season. I don't care who wins or loses."

And sometimes you can even run into a Hollywood legend — literally. "I met Robert Redford at the Golden Globes because he stepped on my foot. He stepped on my foot as he was walking by, and he was like, 'Oh, I'm so sorry!' And I was like, 'It's all right. Robert Redford can step on my foot,'" Retta said. "And then he started chatting with me because he thought I was amusing. So that was pretty cool."
