Kate Chastain Says Kid Rock Had "Remarkable" Manners as a Charter Guest
#BelowDeck's chief stew feared the singer would show some rowdy rock star behavior.
As Below Deck's chief stew, Kate Chastain is no stranger to difficult and demanding charter guests, and when Kid Rock climbed aboard a yacht she was working on, she was expecting some stereotypical rowdy rock star behavior from the singer.
Kate recently recounted the tale for Page Six. “He started smoking a cigar and we were having a party in Saint-Tropez, and the [ship’s] owner’s wife had three rules: no shoes, nobody on the inside of the boat and no smoking, and Kid Rock started smoking,” she said. “The other stewardess was like, ‘I’m going to tell him,’ and I was like, ‘I’m not, it’s Kid Rock,’ but he was so polite. He’s like, ‘I’m so sorry, of course I’ll put it out.'”
The chief stew added, “What was remarkable [were] Kid Rock’s manners."
Even though Kid Rock had some company onboard, he still kept his composure, according to Kate. “He did have two girls, one on each shoulder, they looked like Barbies,” she recalled. “I thought he was going to stand up and the girls were going to start a strip show and it was going to be a music video of him screaming, but it wasn’t. He was lovely.”
We can only imagine that Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson's 2006 wedding celebration in Saint-Tropez, which also took place on a yacht, was a little more festive. Ah, to have been a part of the crew of that boat.
Kid Rock may have actually been easier to serve than the charter guests in Tuesday night's new episode of Below Deck at 9/8c. Get a sneak peek of the high-maintenance drama to come, below.
