Below Deck Med's Anastasia Surmava Got into a Surfing Accident in Sri Lanka
The Below Deck Med stew opened up about returning to the water two weeks after the incident.
Below Deck Mediterranean's Anastasia Surmava is getting back in the water after a recent scary incident.
The stew shared on Instagram on December 9 that she just returned to surfing for the first time since experiencing a surfing accident in Sri Lanka two weeks ago. "I knocked the wind out of myself pretty bad with my own board," Anastasia recalled of the accident in the post, which featured a bikini-clad photo of her laying on her board in the water. "I was able to get about an hour in before I had to get out to go open the cafe."
She went on to reflect on how getting back on her board made her realize the importance of taking time out for self-care during our busy lives. "Damn did it feel good to do something for myself! Never underestimate the power of good old endorphins," she shared. "For anyone who needs to hear this today... I challenge you to do something for yourself for one hour today. Maybe read your fav book, get a massage, watch your favorite show (obv Below Deck Med), or literally just lay in your bed and do nothing. Doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it’s for YOU. Be your #1 ... it’s important."
Anastasia lives in Sri Lanka these days where she recently opened Ajna Food + Yoga, a cafe and yoga studio. "I wish you all could have been there!! Was such a rush of happiness and craziness," she announced on Instagram on November 12. "I am so full of gratitude I’m about to pop. I am proof that you can do anything you put your mind to if [you're] open, willing, and work hard enough. Never stop chasing your goals and never let anyone else’s negativity stop you from reaching high to get what you want. You are the only person in the way of your goals and happiness. Take responsibly for yourself and go kick some ass!!!"
