João Franco Shared Some Incredible Updates on His Career and Love Life Today (UPDATED)
The Below Deck Med alum has been “enjoying life” with a new girlfriend and a job he loves.
UPDATED (December 30, 9:39 A.M.): As 2022 came to a close, Below Deck Mediterranean’s João Franco dropped a few updates on what's next for him in his career. "Very grateful for everything and everyone; old friends and family, new friends and family… truly had one of the best years so far and I cannot wait for next year’s adventures! Starting off with a skiing trip, a new captain job on an awesome brand new 43-meter super yacht, getting my master’s license, and a few other sneaky surprises," he wrote on Instagram recently. "All the best to all and thank you for following my journey! Keep the good times rolling."
The original story continues below.
Below Deck Mediterranean’s João Franco has already been a yacht captain for about four years, and everything’s still smooth sailing these days. Over the course of the past several months, João has shared several life updates on social media showing how that sentiment applies to both his professional life and personal life.
Back on August 5, an Instagram follower asked João in a comment what he’s been up to lately. In his reply, João revealed that he’s “still doing the captain thing,” while also “studying and enjoying life at the moment.” (He explained in May that he’d finished taking master’s courses and was looking to get “experience under a very knowledgeable captain on a bigger boat” so he could take his exam.)
João hasn’t been “enjoying life” alone either. The aforementioned IG post included several red carpet photos of him and his new girlfriend, Domi, at an event in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. “We had an incredible night,” he captioned the post, in part.
Recently, the Below Deck Med alum shared several more loved-up photos with Domi in which they are wearing traditional garb at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, on September 18. He explained in the caption that he and his girlfriend had “so much fun” at the celebration, which he praised for “bringing so many nationalities together under one roof!”
These were hardly the first instances of João sharing his new relationship on social media. Earlier this summer, the pair posed for a scenic couple’s shot by the ocean outside a sushi restaurant in “paradise,” aka Palma de Mallorca. “Feeling [peachy],” he captioned the stunning July 13 snap.
Later that month, João and Domi dined at Palma de Mallorca’s “magical” Michelin-starred Adrián Quetglas restaurant. While there, João joked that he learned “sweet bread isn’t actually bread,” adding a crying-laughing emoji and tagging his girlfriend in the July 30 post.
To make plain the positive direction his life has been headed in, João included the hashtags “life is good,” “happy place,” and “love my job.” And it certainly shows.
