In the above preview for Season 5, Episode 2 — set to air Monday, Oct. 14 — Davide opens up about his past, which just so happens to include a prior marriage. The reveal comes while the guests and crew are engaged in a "leather and lace" dance lesson with a local dancer from Ibiza.

"I've never been to any leather and lace party," says the engineer. "But once, at this crazy festival, I ended up, like, marrying this guy. We actually divorced probably two or three years later. I'm straight, but we are married on Facebook as well."

As for why Davide decided to tie the knot? "I'm a free spirit," he added. "Different in many ways."

Who is the new chief engineer on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5?

Replacing Colin MacRae for Season 5 is Davide Morosi. He was introduced on Season 5, Episode 1, which aired October 7. An Italian man, Davide said he lives by the phrase "Prima il dovere e poi il piacere," which translates to "first duty, and then pleasure."

According to his Instagram account, he's a world traveler who appreciates a good meal and time spent in nature. Plus, he can dance.

What can viewers expect on Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht?

Unsurprisingly, Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht will have plenty of drama as the Parsifal III crew — which includes Davide, Captain Glenn Shephard, Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, First Mate Gary King, Chef Cloyce Martin, stews Diana Cruz and Danni Warren, and deckhands Keith Allen and Emma Crouch — navigate everything from "competitive co-workers" to "tense personal dynamics, all while trying to raise the bar every charter," according to a press release.

"Daisy is ready to take the reins back in the interior department with a new sense of energy and determination. However, plans for a stress-free charter season are threatened when her stews question her leadership," the press release continues. "On deck, Gary attempts to keep his team motivated as one crew member struggles to learn the ropes. In the galley, Chef Cloyce charms the crew and guests but at only 22, he may be too inexperienced to meet the demands of the high-maintenance charter guests."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9/8c. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
