João Franco's Advice for the Below Deck Season 7 Crew: "Don't Embarrass Your Boat"
The Below Deck Med bosun weighed in on the drama surrounding one of the crew's nights out.
Ashton Pienaar's invitation to charter guests Molly and Justine to join the crew out for a night on the town is causing some controversy among the Valor yachties and beyond.
When Below Deck Mediterranean's Captain Sandy Yawn saw the above clip from the Below Deck Season 7 After Show on Twitter, she didn't seem so sure that Ashton and deckhand Tanner Sterback made the right move by fraternizing with the charter guests, even though it was after the charter had ended.
However, Below Deck Med bosun João Franco seemed much more certain, sharing on Twitter that he wouldn't advise doing something like this. "That’s a solid no from me on or off the boat..." he tweeted on January 15.
João admitted that since he's climbed the ranks in yachting, working his way up to becoming a captain, his views on the matter have changed. "I will admit, I’ve done it at a lower rank on a Superyacht. But the higher I climb, the more sense everything my captains have told me makes and the more responsible I will be," he said in another tweet. "Don’t embarrass your boat, don’t embarrass your captain... don’t do something you can’t tell your cap."
Ashton defended his decision to invite Molly and Justine out in the Below Deck Season 7 After Show. "It was just nice to have interaction with other people outside of the crew. I hadn't been coming right with anybody on the boat, not that I even wanted to," he explained. "Me and Molly just had some cool banter between each other. We had this chemistry. At the end of their charter, Justine and Molly started messaging, and they were keen to hang out with us off the boat."
It looks like the crew's upcoming night out is about to rock the boat with Captain Lee Rosbach. Check out a preview of the next episode coming up on Monday, January 20 at 9/8c, below. Catch up on this season anytime through the Bravo app.
