#BelowDeck’s Chief Stew Shares Her Take on Luxurious Celebrity Yachts
Kate Chastain reveals her picks for A-listers with the best sea vessels.
We've seen some impressive yachts on Below Deck over the years. But, believe it or not, there are actually boats that even more over-the-top than Honor or Ohana. Unsurprisingly, they also happen to be owned by some of the richest celebrities in the world. And as it turns out, there's one woman, Below Deck's chief stew Kate Chastain, who is willing to reveal which she has dubbed "The Super Yacht." The Eclipse, owned by billionaire Roman Abramovich
Kate's take: "It's the standard of excellence for all yacht owners. This boat has every amenity under the sun including a system that can detect and destroy paparazzi cameras by firing laser beams into unsuspecting lenses. I bet you can really dance like nobody's watching when you have Russian vodka and destructive lasers on your side!"
Seven Seas, owned by director Steven Spielberg
Kate's take: "When you're the biggest name in the movie industry, one movie theater on your boat isn't going to cut it, which is probably why Steven Spielberg had his boat designed with a 15-foot panel of privacy glass that extends vertically from the infinity pool and transforms into a projection screen. That's in addition to his cinema room, by the way. I get it — sometimes you just want to watch a movie while you swim!"
Main, owned by fashion designer Giorgio Armani
Kate's take: "In a sea of primarily white boats with shiny, stainless steel curves, Main's dark green hull is a one-of-a-kind vision. Thanks to its angular lines and trim physique, Main is like the Angelina Jolie of yachts: sexy yet tough. A lean, mean traveling machine with a defiantly dark exterior."
RC, owned by fashion designer Roberto Cavalli
Kate's take: "The interior of this boat is just as flamboyant, with a collection of leopard print pillows, mink rugs and snakeskin upholstery. It's the perfect for all Cavalli's star-studded parties in the South of France...although he probably won't be hosting any PETA events anytime soon!"
The Arctic P, owned by businessan James Packer
Kate's take: "Its steel hull is ready to travel anywhere in the world making this ship as adventurous as its outback owner. This boat is like Katherine Hepburn: classic, adventurous, a true jungle queen."
