Ben Robinson's Return to Below Deck Med Has Inspired Lots of Reactions from Alums
Past and present crew members sound off on the chef joining the Sirocco crew in Season 4.
Monday night's episode of Below Deck Mediterranean was certainly a shocker. Anastasia Surmava stepped down as chef, Captain Sandy Yawn let June Foster go, and the fate of Colin Macy-O'Toole's employment remains uncertain.
But perhaps the most jaw-dropping moment of the episode came at the very end when we found out that the new chef Captain Sandy hired to take over the galley is none other than Ben Robinson, who fans will remember from Seasons 1 through 4 of Below Deck and Season 1 of Below Deck Med.
And we're not the only ones who are super stoked to see Ben back on the high seas. Several past and present Below Deck and Below Deck Med crew members also couldn't contain their excitement when they heard the good news.
The comments to a tease Ben posted on Instagram about his return to the show inspired lots of enthusiasm from the Below Deck family:
"Yea boyeeee!" Colin wrote, along with a raised hands emoji, an icon that Bugsy Drake also posted in the comments.
"Yassssss," Emily Warburton-Adams shared, along with a heart and a praying hands emoji.
"Looking good benny!" Nico Scholly wrote. "It was only a matter of time."
"Oh hot damnnn," Anastasia gushed.
Nico also showed that he was overjoyed about Ben's return on Twitter. "The man, the myth, the legend himself. Welcome back @BenRobinsonChef," he tweeted. "Time to get loooooooooose baby!!!"
Adrienne Gang made a prediction about how Ben will get along working with Hannah Ferrier again this season. "Is 'Ben, Ben, Hannah' the new rap?!?" she joked on Twitter.
João Franco got to see Ben's reaction to the tease of his return firsthand as the two attended a little viewing party of Monday night's episode of Below Deck Med together.
We should expect Captain Sandy to give Ben a warm welcome when he officially climbs aboard the Sirocco. "The passion that @BenRobinsonChef has [and] what he does is the passion that I have [and] what I do [and] that makes the most amazing experience for the guests. What my industry lacks sometimes is that passion for your job," she tweeted. "He’s amazing."
Ben told The Daily Dish during a recent phone interview that he couldn't have been happier to be back on Below Deck Med. "It was really good. It felt right," he shared. "It was lovely."
