Bethenny Frankel Is Now Officially Divorced
"She is looking forward to moving on with her life," a lawyer for the #RHONY mom said in a statement.
Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy are officially divorced, a lawyer for The Real Housewives of New York City mom confirmed to The Daily Dish. Bethenny closed the chapter on her marriage to Jason nearly four years after announcing their separation in December 2012.
"Out of respect for her privacy and the well-being of her daughter, Bethenny is declining to comment. We can confirm that the divorce has been resolved," Bethenny's lawyer Allan Mayefsky said. "Our client is ecstatic that this long chapter is over, and she is looking forward to moving on with her life." Bethenny and Jason married in 2010 and their relationship was featured on the series Bethenny Getting Married and Bethenny Ever After. Together they have a 6-year-old daughter, Bryn.
In April, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Bethenny shared that her divorce proceedings were at "the 18th hole" and nearing completion. "I do. I think we’re at the end of it," she explained at the time, before revealing if she'd ever consider getting married in the future. "I will not legally get married again," she said.
Last month Bethenny confirmed she was dating New York banker Dennis Shields, who is currently separated from his wife (his relationship status had been a topic of conversation for Luann de Lesseps). Bethenny also confirmed that she went to high school with his ex in an interview with People. "I am in a really happy place right now," she said. "I haven't been this happy in a really long time, and I'm continuing with my policy of not involving [others] in my relationships, because it certainly has served me wrong in the past."
You can check out Bethenny and the rest of the RHONY crew every Wednesday at 9/8c. See a preview of this week's episode, below.
