Bethenny Frankel Felt "Alone" While Going Through Her Miscarriage
"That was definitely a negative time in my house," the #RHONY entrepreneur said.
Bethenny Frankel shared her struggle with fibroids during Wednesday night's episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, which she believes caused her miscarriage a couple years ago while she was still with her now-estranged husband Jason Hoppy. "The miscarriage, based on things going on in my personal life and my marriage, I think that later I sort of just marketed it to myself as that was not meant to be because they would have made things even more difficult than they already were," she said during a recent interview with ET. "I definitely felt like I went through that alone, that was definitely a negative time in my house."
The Skinnygirl mogul, who gave birth to daughter Bryn in May 2010, told ET that she didn't want to tell anyone about her miscarriage at the time that it happened, especially because it didn't seem like anyone was talking about the issue. "People will talk about money. People will talk on TV about their sex life, they'll talk about infidelity, everything. People don't talk about female issues," she explained. "I know a lot of people, and I've been through a lot, and it's wild that I really don't know anybody who'd gone through this."
As we learned during Wednesday night's episode of RHONY, one of the options for Bethenny to stop her excessive bleeding was a hysterectomy. However, she opted to undergo a myomectomy to remove the uterine fibroids on May 20, as she described on Good Morning America Wednesday.
So does that mean Bethenny wants to have more children in the future? "I don't know. So many strange, surprising things have happened to me that I feel like you just have to let nature run its course," she told ET.
Bethenny is still recovering from her surgery, but her personal life seems to be in a better place than it has been in the past few years, especially now that boyfriend Dennis Shields is in her life. "I'm really, really happy right now," she said. "When I was in the very, very, the most negative part of my divorce I would say it's gnarly, it's brutal, and it really can be. It's been the worst experience of my life, so I'm ready to let the good times roll now. The surgery's past me. Hopefully soon my marriage will be past me, and life is good."
Next Wednesday night's episode of RHONY will be an emotional one for Bethenny as she continues to deal with her health issues. Have tissues handy, and watch the sneak preview, below.
