Bethenny Frankel's $120 Million Margarita
The Skinnygirl scores a fat payday.
Cha-ching! Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl margarita is bringing home the bacon. The Hollywood Reporter says that the acquisition of her liquor line by Fortune Brands' Beam Global has left the Bethenny Ever After star with deep pockets -- reportedly $120 million deep (not bad for someone who once clashed with LuAnn over the etiquette of picking up the tab).
Even infamous penny-pinching Jason can now comfortably afford to purchase that second pair of designer jeans, but the epic boost to Bethenny's bank account almost never happened. For two months, the natural foods chef declined offers to join The Real Housewives of New York City. "I didn't know where I was in my life," she tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I was still taking the subway to events because I couldn't afford the $20 for a cab."
Ultimately Bethenny signed on the dotted line and parlayed her face time into some serious business ventures. "I went on the show single-handedly and exclusively for business. I knew it was a risk and I had the most to lose, because I already had a platform. When I went on the show, no one was going on for business, no one had done anything," the 40-year-old continues.
We bet Bethenny now has 120 million reasons why she made the right decision.
