Bethenny Lays Down Rules to Live by in New Book
Skinnygirl titan offers 10 edicts in "A Place of Yes."
How does mother/author/TV star/motivational speaker/margarita queen Bethenny Frankel do it? Well, with her next book, “A Place of Yes,” it looks like she’s willing to share.
The Bethenny Ever After star offered a sneak peek of the new book to the Associated Press, and in it, she serves up 10 rules to live by, all designed to help you “keep moving forward” and “break the cycle.”
With one New York Times best-seller already under her belt ("Naturally Thin"), Bethenny digs a little deeper this time out, chronicling her road to full-on cottage industry status, boating Skinnygirl Margaritas, her workout DVD, a daily cleanse skin-care line, and her upcoming shapewear line. “I have (my) shapewear on right now under my dress and it's riding up, and I will be calling my factory and I'll be like, 'We're not putting this out because it's riding up and that's a problem for women with shapewear. This will not be on the line,'” she told the AP. “I'm just saying I just don't stamp my name on something. It's something that I believe in."
Another lesson she believes in? Listen to your gut. When Bethenny first started exploring the notion of a low-calorie margarita concoction, she was rejected. A lot. Rather than give up, she decided to distribute it herself. "Little old me, who knew nothing about the booze business, said, 'You know what? This is a good idea. I know it. I'm acting on it," she says.
And she says there are more good ideas ahead -- Bethenny plans on writing a children's book, a relationship book, as well as one with lessons on being a successful entrepreneur.
