When former Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel documented her engagement, wedding and pregnancy on Bethenny Getting Married and Bethenny Ever After, everyone thought the Skinnygirl cocktail creator was living a fairytale.
But now that Bethenny and Jason Hoppy have called it quits, she reveals that her life now is anything but a dream.
In an interview with ABC's Nightline, a "definitely bruised" Bethenny reveals that the divorce and custody battle have taken a major toll on her. "I'm going through a brutal, brutal time...It really, really is. I mean, there's no other way to slice it."
So how does Bethenny alleviate stress? "I would imagine, eventually, sex would be a nice release, but you know, who knows," she jokes. "If I'm exercising or doing yoga, it'll take the edge off on some level. And then I like to have a Skinnygirl cocktail. I'm not going to lie. Honestly. It's mommy juice."
Most of all, Bethenny feels that after televising her relationship with Jason, she has let her fans down, "because I felt like I was this role model that represented the fairytale." That's not to say that Bethenny regrets documenting her marriage, in good times and bad. "I could have stayed on the show and been like, 'Oh everything's perfect with us. Everything's great.' It made me feel dirty for people to think I had this perfect relationship and this perfect life."
Despite her ongoing personal and legal woes, Bethenny is moving on and starting fresh with her upcoming daytime talk show, Bethenny. She's also surrounding herself with good friends and good times; she recently was spotted vacationing in St. Tropez with longtime friend Warren Lichtenstein.
