Bethenny: Single Mothers are 'True Heroes'

It really does take a village.

By Lauren Metz

Bethenny Frankel
Balancing babies and business can be a mother -- something Bethenny Frankel knows all too well. "Bryn can already tell when I'm looking at my phone and not her. When I'm focused on her, she giggles and smiles, and when I focus on work, she sometimes fusses—it really tears me apart because I want to spend every second with her," the Bethenny Ever After star blogs. "I can't even imagine how single mothers do it. They are true heroes."

Even though B's surrounded by an amazing support team (shout out to Jason), the Place of Yes author has finally learned to say no, but it wasn't easy. "I've missed events that were very important to some of my friends, but the fact is there would be no value in me going without giving them the full attention they deserve and just thinking about all of the other things that are on my plate. Some things have to go."

Are you thinking, "Wow, that's easier said than done?" Chin up. "Just remember that at different times in your life, you'll have more or less time, and you'll be able to do other things later.  Nothing is forever, so prioritize what matters today, and worry about tomorrow tomorrow," the entrepre-mommy advises. "It's not selfish; it's survival."
