Beyoncé's Family and Friends Get in Formation for Her 36th Birthday

Queen Bey's family and friends honor her philanthropic efforts in Houston on her big day.

Family and friends of Beyoncé, including former First Lady Michelle Obama, celebrated her 36th birthday on Labor Day by getting in formation for a special tribute to her that was posted on her website.

Bey's Destiny's Child crew Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, her mother Tina Lawson, daughter Blue Ivy and mother-in-law Gloria Carter (who recently came out on her son Jay-Z's new album 4:44) were among the women who donned her braids, hat and statement necklace from the "Formation" video on her album Lemonade.

The homage was also a good chance to direct fans towards her Beygood Houston charity's efforts to support Hurricane Harvey relief. She will appear on a multi-network Hurricane Harvey telethon, set to air on September 12.

Meanwhile, hubby Jay-Z used his Sunday night headlining performance at the Made In America Festival in Philadelphia as an opportunity to wish his wife some early birthday greetings.

He had the crowd sing the traditional "Happy Birthday" song, followed by Stevie Wonder's funky hit of the same name, which was written for Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1981.
