Brandon Maxwell Isn’t Just a Fashion Superstar & Project Runway Judge, He’s Also “Stella’s Dad”
Get to know the Project Runway judge’s adorable Frenchie.
Brandon Maxwell's bio on his Instagram page lists the Project Runway judge as "Fashion Designer, Creative Director, Stella’s Dad." If you seem to have missed the birth announcement, don't worry — Stella is actually Brandon's adorable French Bulldog!
Stella was born in August 2012 and has been the apple of her famous father's eye ever since. He briefly changed her name to Prada in 2013 — or he joked about it, at least.
"She's a little butch, so she's not one for pinks and delicate things; she is super active and tough on everything," he told Mrs. Sizzle in Stella's youth, adding that one of Stella's best friends when she was a kid was Asia, Lady Gaga's Frenchie.
Brandon noted that he loves to swath Stella in luxe fabrics like cashmere, and she has a collection of cute puffer coats, rain jackets, and custom-made beds.
He summed up her personality perfectly on his Instagram feed, where he shares lots of sweet moments with Stella that might make you fall in love.
"My favorite angsty teenager," he wrote lovingly. "She stays up late and parties, sleeps until noon, and ignores me and hides under the covers when I tell her it's time to wake up."
Stella has an incredibly charming smile.
Stella loves to join her dad at work.
And her tastes are still expensive after all these years.
She loves her other daddy, too.
Stella might be just a little bit of a diva. Just a little bit.
"Twisting my body into a pretzel every night and living each day in excruciating back pain as a result so you can sleep comfortably, wiping these little sleepies out of your eye every morning (pictured above), worrying about your health and safety every single second of the day, and just generally devoting my entire life to you has been the ULTIMATE pleasure in this lifetime," Brandon wrote on her 6th birthday.
Brandon's home has a lot of cute Frenchie flair, which seems to amuse Stella.
This pooch is a political activist, too.
Stella often reminds Brandon what's important in life, and to take time to live.
"Just 30 minutes alone on the beach with the one being in the world I’m actually truly responsible for," he wrote in October. "A tiny little reminder amongst the craziness that you can work hard your whole life to try to achieve things that you think will give you external value, or you can throw the ball on the beach and make something or someone else happy, and that will be just enough."
