Bravo Puts 'Heathers' Reboot into Development

Gag us with a spoon! A revamp of the cult classic is coming.

By Mike Hess

Dear Diary, our programming now has a body count. Heathers is coming to Bravo. *squeal*

It was announced on Wednesday morning that a reboot of the remarkably quotable (see intro sentence) cult 1988 classic film is in development along with four other scripted dramas here at Bravo. According to the Hollywood Reporter, who broke the story, our version will be as such: "Heathers picks up 20 years later, with Veronica (Ryder's character) returning home to Sherwood with her teenage daughter, who must contend with the next generation of mean girls: the Ashleys: the daughters of the surviving Heathers." That group of mean girl daughters? They're the Ashleys.
There's no word if Wynona Ryder will be involved, but behind the show is The Big C executive producer Jenny Bicks. Heathers will be joined by The Apartment, The Darlings, All American Girl and Rita in our scripted lineup currently in development.

Are you as excited about this as we are? Tell us in the comments!
