Brittany Cartwright isn't just the woman who has Jax Taylor maybe thinking about marriage. Long before she popped up on the scene in Los Angeles, the Vanderpump Rules SURver's life was a little more green acres than fast-paced city living.
In fact, the Kentucky native is actually quite adept at all things related to working out in nature, which makes sense considering she grew up on a fully-functioning tobacco farm. "Every summer I would help cut tobacco, set tobacco on the tractor," she told The Daily Dish. "We have chickens. We have horses. We have mini horses. We have two mini horses, just like [Lisa Vanderpump's], but ours are super cute, I must say."
She also grew up in a big family with one brother and one sister (she's the middle child), as well as two younger half brothers from her dad's second marriage. Her parents divorced when she was young, and Brittany's close to her mom as well as her step mom.
But she also had her sights set on life outside of rural life. After high school she headed to Eastern Kentucky University, where she studied nursing for a brief time. "I was a cheerleader for my college as well," she said. "So I cheered ever since I was in the third grade. It was so fun. I had an amazing time. I loved everything about [college]. I would do it all over again if i could. I had my own apartment; it was awesome."
"Honestly any of the modeling that I did was little stuff here and there, that I was asked to do like Harley Davidson calendars," she said. "Just like little things like that. I was more of a pageant girl. I was always doing beauty pageants."
And you can bet she went home a winner a time or two while competing in pageants. "I traveled. I went all over Kentucky and then I went to Florida and just different pageants," she recalled. "I won probably like 10 or 11 titles. I used to do a lot of that stuff."
