Camille Grammer Shares Heartwarming Updates on the Furry Friend She Rescued
The RHOBH alum sprang into action after finding a stray kitten outside her home.
Camille Grammer has shared a heart-melting story about an unexpected, but very adorable, visitor.
On May 23, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum took to Instagram to put out a call for help. Camille told her followers that she and her family had discovered a feral kitten outside her home and were unsure how to proceed. The furry creature remained on her property throughout the day and began making itself comfortable near Camille’s garden and inside her garage. The former Housewife went on to say that she had given the kitten some water and tuna, which it ate, but she was having trouble catching it.
“It will not let us near,” Camille wrote. “This morning we spotted the kitty again and put out water and food. Later in the day my pup Jacque found kitty and chased the poor little thing. We have been waiting for mama to come around but we have not seen her. Any advice?”
Camille’s Former RHOBH Castmates Offer Help
RHOBH’s Sutton Stracke and RHOBH alum Denise Richards took to the comments section to offer some assistance. However, Camille said she had already enlisted the help of Jessica Davis, the founder/president of the animal rescue organization Boomer’s Buddies.
About two days after her initial Instagram post, Camille shared a photo of the kitty in a little cage. She reassured followers that the animal was being cared for and would likely be adopted.
“Thank you Jessica for your help,” she captioned the Instagram. “We have several inquired about this little one. Thank you all for caring.”
Camille Reveals the Kitten’s Name
Less than a week later, Camille returned to social media to share a few more updates. She thanked Jessica once again for evaluating the kitten and confirming there were no serious health concerns. The Beverly Hills mom also revealed the kitty’s sex and its new name.
“It’s a she! My daughter named her Misty,” Camille wrote. “Misty is super sweet. It’s amazing she survived only weeks old on her own away from mama. She goes to the vet in the morning for a checkup. So far she is allowing snuggles and is enjoying human contact. She had a kitten bath and is making strides. We are very happy.”
Camille and Her Family Have “First Dibs” on Misty
On June 1, Jessica posted a sweet video of Misty’s rescue journey and how she was getting along at the rescue shelter. She said Misty started “to play and act like a kitten” after a few days of rest and even went on to make a new friend.
“We noticed she took an immediate interest in Henry, our senior abuse case survivor we took in just two months ago,” Jessica wrote. “It was the sweetest instant connection that we have seen between two cats that have never met before! With little Misty even trying to nurse on Henry, you can tell she felt safe and comforted by him.”
Jessica revealed that many people have expressed interest in adopting Misty, but Camille and her family have “first dibs.”
“In a world where most people would have just turned a blind eye, we thank [Camille] for caring about this little soul and making sure this baby got to safety!!” she continued. “You are her angel and we are so so grateful and we know Misty is also!”
