Candiace Dillard Bassett Said Monique Samuels "Used Me as a Ladder to Climb up to" Ashley Darby

However, Monique Samuels has a different perspective on what went wrong for these Real Housewives of Potomac friends.

Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett's friendship has definitely taken a weird turn this season of The Real Housewives of Potomac — so much so that Monique said she was ready to "drag" Candiace "pregnant and all" at Katie Rost's hoedown. However, the two don't exactly agree on what went wrong in their relationship. In The Real Housewives of Potomac After Show, each gave their own perspectives about what changed for the two.

"The Candiace that I met was very happy and 'I want to kiki' and girl power and I said now you're on this weird path and I really didn't understand where it was coming from. And the only thing that I could possibly imagine it was coming from was her relationship with her mom," Monique explained.

Candiace said that it was Monique's friendship was Ashley Darby that caused a rift for them. "I'm in an odd place with Monique at this point simply because I'm not where she's coming from," Candiace said. "My issue came in when she decided to use me, what I felt, as a ladder to climb up to Ashley. She continuously chastised me and the way that I was coming at Ashley. That's not her business."

In fact, "We've had conversations, several conversations, Monique and I, about Ashley, about how she does not like her, doesn't care for her," Candiace added.

Monique agreed Ashley has something to do with the rift — just not in the same way Candiace thinks.

"I called her the new Ashley; she was Ashley from last year," Monique said of Candiace. "When I do say that, I don't mean they're the same. It's just from the point of in the past you would offer up whatever you thought about whatever situation, which is fine, but sometimes the delivery wasn't always great. And now Candiace is projecting onto other people how her mom projects onto her."

Karen Huger has some advice for these two; hear what she has to say in the video above. And catch RHOP on Sundays at 8/7c. Preview, below.
