Captain Lee Rosbach Shuts Down Reports of Bankruptcy: "I Don't Owe Anybody"
"It's devastating," the #BelowDeck boss added about the false report.
Last month, a report popped up that Captain Lee Rosbach had filed for bankruptcy. But the Below Deck boss set the record straight during a recent interview with TMZ.
Captain Lee told TMZ that he was shocked to hear the news of the report. "I was at sea, so it was just like I'm getting all these emails and phone calls, and my phone's blowing up," he said. "They said, 'Your bankruptcy. We had no idea.' I said, 'What bankruptcy?' I said, 'I'm not bankrupt. I don't owe anybody.'"
Captain Lee claims that someone has filed for bankruptcy for him without his knowledge or consent, according to TMZ. He said that he then got in contact with the Department of Justice, who "isolated two individuals." "I have no idea who these people are or what their motivation might be or if they're a part of something larger. I just have no idea," he explained. "And I'm going, 'Why would you do this?'"
Captain Lee shared that it has been extremely difficult to deal with the report of the bankruptcy. "It's devastating," he said. "I mean, when it gets flashed all over the Internet that you're a deadbeat, you don't pay your bills, it's detrimental to my career. It's detrimental to just me as an individual because I place integrity as one of those things you either have or you don't in my book. I've always prided myself on that, and for someone to just blatantly and so openly question that, just really pisses me off. I want that pound of flesh."
Relive Captain Lee's no-nonsense command in action last season of Below Deck.
