The Below Deck Mediterranean family is paying tribute to Captain Mark Howard following his recent passing.

Hannah Ferrier, who served as Below Deck Med's chief stew from Seasons 1 through 5, shared a photo of the late Captain Mark on Instagram on October 29. "Rest In Peace my friend. You were a great captain, friend and colleague," she wrote. "Always the gentleman [pink heart emoji]. You will be missed."

Tiffany Jones, whom Below Deck Med fans knew as Tiffany Copeland in Season 1, shared photos with Captain Mark, as well as fellow crew members from that season, Bobby Giancola and Bryan Kattenburg, on Twitter on October 29. "RIP Captain Mark Howard," the former stew tweeted. "You were a joy to be around."

Fellow Season 1 stew Julia d'Albert Pusey also shared a joyful memory with Captain Mark and the rest of the Ionian Princess crew from Below Deck Med's first season, which aired on Bravo in 2016. "Were does time go?! This was back in 2016. Today has got me thinking that you can't take life for granted. Still in shock of the news of Captain Mark's passing!" Julia captioned the photo in her Instagram Stories over the weekend, along with a broken heart emoji.

Captain Sandy Yawn, who would become Below Deck Med's captain following Captain Mark's time on the show, honored his memory on Twitter. "Such sad news. When I met him, I felt such a kindness. GodSpeed Captain Mark," Captain Sandy tweeted on October 29, along with a broken heart emoji.

“Our thoughts and sincerest sympathies are with the family and friends of the respected Captain Mark Howard," Bravo said in a statement on October 29. "As the captain of the first season of ‘Below Deck Med,’ he will always be remembered for his many contributions and mentorship and will forever remain part of the Bravo family.”
